What I do
Every piece gets the same care, whether it's a full strip-back restoration or a fresh coat of the perfect colour. Here's what's on offer.
"I work on every piece myself. That means I can only take on a certain number of jobs at a time. Which is exactly how I want it. You're not getting a production line. You're getting someone who genuinely cares about getting it right."
This is the big one: taking a tired, damaged, or just plain unloved piece and bringing it all the way back. I strip it right back, repair what needs repairing, sand it smooth, and refinish it to a standard that makes it feel new again without losing what made it special in the first place.
MCM pieces are a speciality. There's something about that era of furniture, the solid timber, the craftsmanship, the lines, that responds so beautifully to restoration. But I work across all styles of vintage and antique timber furniture.
I can strip it right back to bare timber: stained, oiled or lacquered to let the natural grain do the talking. Or take it in a completely different direction with a painted finish in whatever colour suits the piece and the room. I'll help you figure out which direction suits best.
If you're going painted, I'll have a conversation about colour and finish. Bring inspo images, describe a vibe, or point to something you love and I'll help find your direction.
A full renovation is expensive and disruptive. But a lot of the time, the bones are perfectly good. Often it's just the surfaces and hardware that need a good update. That's where I come in.
Kitchens, bathrooms, internal doors and door frames, cupboards. I refinish the surfaces, update the hardware, and give you a space that feels completely transformed without the reno price tag or the weeks of chaos. It's one of the most satisfying things I do. The before and after is genuinely unreal.
Painted in a colour that transforms the room, or stripped back to natural timber. I'll help you figure out what works best for the space.
My promise to you
Once I've quoted your job, that's the price and it won't go up, no matter what comes up during the restoration. My quotes are valid for 4 weeks so you can take your time. No pressure, no hidden extras, ever.
Send me a message with some photos and a bit of info about your piece and what you're hoping for. No commitment needed at this stage.
I'll come back to you with questions, thoughts and a quote. I'll figure out the brief together: colours, finish, timeline.
You bring the piece to me in inner north Melbourne, or I can organise pickup. I'll sort the details with you.
When it's done, I bring it back to you. I'll keep you posted along the way so you know exactly when to expect it.
It depends on the piece and what's involved, but most standard furniture restorations take 2โ4 weeks. Cabinetry and surface work is typically 4โ6 weeks, or 4โ8 weeks depending on the size of the job. I'll give you a realistic timeline when I chat. I'd rather set realistic expectations and over-deliver.
Real wood, whether solid timber or veneer, is where I do my best work. I can remove laminate and replace it with veneer if needed, but flat pack furniture is not typically what I work on. If you're unsure, send me a photo and I'll let you know.
Yes, I offer collection and delivery across Melbourne. It's easiest to sort the details when I chat about your project, as it depends on the size of the piece and where you're based. Just mention it when you get in touch and I'll work it out.
Absolutely, this is half the fun. Bring photos of your space, any inspo you've saved, and a rough vibe (warm/cool, bold/subtle, etc.) and I'll land on something together with you. I love this part.
Send me a photo and tell me what you're thinking. No commitment, no pressure. Just a conversation about what's possible.
