MCM Bedside Drawers · Solid Timber · Vintage Brass Hardware
These came in covered head to toe in white paint, a classic case of a good piece buried under a bad decision. Stripping them back was a commitment, but the timber underneath made it absolutely worth it. What came through was a warm, rich teak tone with genuine grain character that no paint job could ever replicate.
The profile on these is lovely: a carved frame detail running down each side, clean drawer lines, and proportions that sit right in the mid-century sweet spot. They have a solidity to them that you don't always find in pieces this age. The drawers slide smoothly.
Vintage brass hardware was sourced specially to complement the restoration. The knobs have just the right amount of age to them, warm, slightly worn, and completely at home on a piece like this. Each drawer is lined with a retro-print wave pattern in navy, burgundy and orange that gives a little personality when you open them up.
A proper pair.
